The Independent Insurance Agents of the Capital Region is a local chapter of the state and national organizations: Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York (IIABNY) and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA).The IIACR membership is comprised of principal owners and key employees of independent insurance agencies throughout the Capital Region of New York State.Members meet on a regular basis to discuss current events and issues that affect the insurance industry locally, statewide, and nationally.Social events such as the annual "Day At The Track" are held at the Saratoga Race Track in August and the IIACR's annual "Golf Day" are well received by members and guests.Charitable donations to local causes such as the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Habitat For Humanity, and Make-A-Wish Foundation have been made by the IIACR in an effort to contribute to the community as a whole.Monthly luncheon meetings are held at the Italian American Community Center. Speakers relating to the insurance business or community are selected to enhance these meetings. Mike Breslin, Albany County Executive, Ken Bruno, Rensselaer County District Attorney, and Greg Serio, NYS Superintendent of Insurance have spoken at such luncheon meetings.Information regarding upcoming events such as "Day At The Track" or "Golf Day" can be obtained by contacting officers of the IIACR by telephone, e-mail, or by going to our upcoming events page.Member InformationTwo types of memberships are available: "Members" is reserved for independent agencies and "Associate Members" is for organizations other than insurance agencies: e.g. insurance companies, adjusters, appraisers, glass dealers, body shops, etc.If you are interested in joining our association, please contact any one of the officers by visiting our contact page.
